TODAY

today the world seems gloomy
could have been the weather
there was something more to it
there was a sadness
that filled the air
consuming the souls
of those who are too weak to challenge it

looking back to the past
this has been a common thing
today is different to the rest
the joy has been replaced
with a strong force
a force that no one understands
and unable to conquer it

as the world spins
and all go about their business
those caught up in the grip 
of this force, this sadness
losing sight of the better things
they slip futher n futher
into the darkness
that has taken over their souls

they suffer in silence
left alone
to face the battle
to lose the battle
to face the final outcome
the last thing
that may have been there
to keep them in the real world
has been lost forever
