THE REAPER
Parting with such sweet sorrow
How can sorrow be sweet?
When the parting causes more sadness and pain
Man is fooled to believe in something
That cannot even be so.
Oh why would the world be so full of woe?
A love formed between two souls
Is so easily broken by the one thing
That all try to stay away from
A tall dark figure with his long black coat and sickle
Who has no regard for time, for life, for love!
Oh the anger that rages against him.
With that sick smirk on his long skinny face
Taking all that you love and care for
He doesn't see the pain written on your face
Nor does he comprehend the sadness that fills your heart
Within him there is no trace of remorse
No strand of compassion can be found in his veins
He continues to do what all tries so hard to escape from
Reaping the souls of all and we are expected to move on
Knowing that we could be next on his list
How can we say that we part with sweet sorrow?
